(This original post was written on Thursday August 14th to the original blog "Letters from the Lighthouse." Not everybody has access to my original blog, so I decided to create a blog directly related to my travels, starting with this road trip.)
On the road again! It's been awhile since I have taken a true road trip and this past June I truly heard the road calling, so I must go. Something about the hum of the tires on the pavement is really soothing and comforting. I am almost giddy with delight for this solo trip on which I am about to embark. Heading south on I-5 until central Oregon, then headed on over to the coast. I will be following Highway 101 / Highway 1 all the way down to Los Angeles, with many stops in between. I will revel in the alone time, the thinking time, and the joy of uniting with nature, especially the ocean. My car is checked out but there is always that bit of apprehension that something might go wrong while I'm on the road. But I will not let the apprehension rule the day. This will be a good trip!
